Seven Thanksgiving Movies

Happy Thanksgiving Owlets! In honor of the the day of turkey, stuffing, and all things football, I present a Special Edition of the list of Seven: Thanksgiving Movies. You may laugh, since many of these movies are not Thanksgiving related, however, ever since I was a kid I remember eating dinner, watching football, and then one of the following movies would be playing on television. In fact, it doesn't feel like Thanksgiving unless I watch Jurassic Park.

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971)
The world is astounded when Willy Wonka, for years a recluse in his factory, announces that five lucky people will be given a tour of the factory, shown all the secrets of his amazing candy, and one will win a lifetime supply of Wonka chocolate. Nobody wants the prize more than young Charlie, but as his family, is so poor that buying even one bar of chocolate is a treat, buying enough bars to find one of the five golden tickets is unlikely in the extreme. But in movieland, magic can happen. Charlie, along with four somewhat odious other children, get the chance of a lifetime and a tour of the factory. Along the way, mild disasters befall each of the odious children, but Charlie beat the odds and grab the brass ring?

Home Alone (1991)
It is Christmas Time and the McAllister family is preparing for vacation in Paris, France. But, the youngest in the family named Kevin got into a scuffle with his older brother Buzz and was sent to his room which is on the third floor of his house. The next morning, while the rest of the family were in a rush to make it to the airport on time, they completely forgot about Kevin who now has the house all to himself. Being home alone was fun for Kevin, having a pizza all to himself, jumping on his parents' bed and making a mess. Kevin soon discovers that two robbers, Harry and Marv, are about to rob his house on Christmas Eve. Kevin acts quickly by wiring  his own house with makeshift booby traps to stop the burglars and to bring them to justice.

Jurassic Park (1993)
Huge advancements in scientific technology have been able to create an island full of living dinosaurs. John Hammond have invited four individuals, plus two grandchildren to join him at Jurassic Park. But will everything go to plan? Especially when one of the parks own workers attempt to steal the dinosaurs embryos, and have to shut down all the electricity in the process. It's now a race for survival with everyone located all over the island.

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)
Peppermint Patty invites herself and her friends over to Charlie Brown's house for Thanksgiving, and with Linus, Snoopy, and Woodstock, he attempts to throw together a Thanksgiving dinner.

Death Becomes Her (1992)
Helen, a writer, and Madeline, an actress, have hated each other for years. Madeline is married to Ernest, who was once Helen's fiance. After she recovers from a mental breakdown, Helen vows revenge by stealing back Ernest and plotting to kill Madeline. Both rivals have secretly drunk a miracle cure for aging; they accidentally discover, when each tires to eliminate the other, that they have become immortal and that "life" will never be the same again.

Addams Family Values (1993)
On any day of the week, you could expect a newborn baby to be nurtured and loved by his older sister. Except, of course, if it's Wednesday. Pubert is the latest addition to the Addams family and, to prevent sibling rivalry escalating to fratricide, Wednesday and Pugsley are shipped off to summer camp and a nanny is hired. Debby Jellinsky is great with wrinkling baldies, which makes her the perfect nanny for Pubert and the unlikely wife of Uncle Fester. Is she grave digging or gold digging?

The Great Outdoors (1988)
Big-hearted Chicago family man Chet has brought his family to a lakeside resort area, and although his wife and kids aren't quite as excited as he is, Chet has high hopes for the vacation. However, his optimism is sabotaged when his obnoxious brother-in-law Roman drops in unexpectedly, along with his snooty, strange family. Chet and his family try to stay open-minded, but they find it difficult to relax and enjoy themselves because of the constant annoyance of Roman's presence.
