On our second date, Rachel and I went to Gettysburg for the day, eating chili dogs at Ernie's Texas Lunch and a chicken fingers and Lincoln's Diner. Rachel gave me a tour of Gettysburg College, the battlefields and monuments of Gettysburg, and a ghost tour of the battlefields that night. During our trip, Rachel had went into a random shop and bought a black leather braided bracelet for herself. After wearing it for several weeks, she eventually found a leather bracelet that she liked more and gave me the leather bracelet during our first trip to New Hope.
I've been wearing my bracelet on the same wrist since our trip to New Hope and have refused to take it off. During our move two weeks ago, I realized that my bracelet had fallen off at some point and was gone forever.
Insert: Giant frowny face and a few tears.
Rachel and I went to New Hope yesterday for all you can eat tacos at Taco Loco and went shopping at some of the shops. Our major objective was to find something to decorate our bedroom with, since putting my Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin albums on the wall is such a pain in the ass. My second objective, was to find a new leather bracelet.
One of the first shops we went into was a leather shop, (I think called Genuine Leather, could be wrong though). The first thing I found was a new leather wallet, with lots of compartments (including a secret compartment) for $15. I also found a thick leather bracelet that I fell in love with for $12. Even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, it was still a nice bracelet. I purchased my two new leather products and we continued on our journey.
By the end of our trip in New Hope, we were both tired and overly stuffed from all the tacos. Before we could leave, Rachel was determined to get something pierced, and decided to get a third hole pierced in her ear. After our experience at Warrior Piercing, we went into a little shop consisting of beads and antique jewelry.
This was my last chance to find a leather bracelet, so I asked the woman behind the counter if she had any thin, braided leather bracelets. While she didn't have any in stock, she was determined to make sure I left a happy customer. The next thing I know she pulls out a spool of leather and tells Rachel and I that if we braided it ourselves, she would make sure I left with a braided leather bracelet at a cheap price.
I held one end of the leather while Rachel braided the strands together, creating a nearly identical bracelet. The woman gave us a good price on the bracelet, especially since Rachel did a majority of the manual labor.
